My new wedding season kicks of with one that is a “first” in many ways….my first one at a wonderful wedding venue in Wem, North Shropshire…that of The Old Rectory. A truly lovely old manor house that is run by a small team of dedicated staff that really do help to make the day run smoothly. The bride and groom…Duncan and Nicola, met me at my very first wedding fayre there a little over a year ago (another first!)…and also they were one of my first “Love Lane” couples when they came to Ellesmere for their pre wedding experience that can be found here.
Their day was bitterly cold….but thankfully dry…although it did start to snow, and also hail, at one point, though that was much later in the day…those pictures can be seen to the end of this blog entry…where the brolly came out and a bit of PbArtworks magic applied to bring out the beauty of the weather. In the evening the couple had arranged for a treat for their guests…a good old fish and chip van, that served up the perfect end to what was a fantastic day. The music was served up with much gusto by the brilliantly talented Joe Seagar who’s eagerly sought for weddings throughout Shropshire, and is someone I wholeheartedly recommend listening to if you are after someone to supply great acoustic music for your wedding day.
As you will see from the pictures I have selected below…Nicola and Duncan are a really relaxed and chilled couple, their day was a wonderful start to the year for me, they were an absolute pleasure to work with and to be around, friends and relatives had traveled far and wide to be there for them and to join in with their celebrations. For me…it was a truly wonderful and liberating experience working at such a fabulous venue with such a great couple. The day really was special, and I feel honored to have shared it with them.
